The Community Works Harvest Dinner will be held on December 7, 2010.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY—Everyone's invited to the Community Works Harvest Dinner on Tuesday, December 7 at 5:30pm in Ely Hall's AULA. Come support your neighbors. Stay for the food donated by Andy's Wellness Market, Aramark, Babycakes, Baccios Pizzeria, Cosimo's Poughkeepsie, Crafted Kup, Fresco Tortillas, Gigi's, Gino's, Janet's Jerk Stop, Julie's, Juliet's, Kismat, Mahoney's, Main Course, Marco's, Mole Mole, My Brother Bobby Salsa, My Market, Nellie Kellies, Nilda's Cookies, Noshi's Coney Island, Reggae Boy, Soul Dog, Stop & Shop, Sushi Village, Thai Spice, The Culinary Institute, The Dubliner, Twisted Soul, Uno's, and Wilklow Orchards.

Entertainment will feature local teens in the RealSkills program, a Community Works recipient.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $7.00 in the College Center or $8.00 at the door. All proceeds will benefit this year's Community Works recipients: Celebrating Community (John Flowers), Children's Media Project, Dutchess Outreach, GLSEN Hudson Valley, Grace Smith House, The Living Room of the Mental Health Association of Dutchess County, Middle Main Revitalization (Hudson River Housing), Poughkeepsie Royals Basketball Club, Queen's Galley, Real Skills Network, Inc., and Stringendo Orchestra School scholarship program.

Community Works is a philanthropic campaign whose mission is to provide financial assistance to local not-for-profit organizations. Funded by donations from employees and students of Vassar College, Community Works has funded 40 different institutions in the Hudson Valley since its inception in 2001, contributing more than $850,000 to support pressing needs in our local communities. Recipients are selected each year by a committee of staff, administrators, faculty, and students. To make a contribution to Community Works, visit the website.
